Movie Review Monday

I just recently joined Netflix, which is pretty economical considering that we get 4-5 movies at a time. I feel obliged after watching some of the ones that I picked to give others my opinion on these movies. The first that I rented was "No County for Old Men". This movie won the Academy Award for best picture this year so I thought that it would be a decent movie. I was wrong!!! Apparently the people that vote for the movies went on strike with the screenwriters and they just picked names out of a hat. Or they were so afraid of the scary man in the movie that they decided that they should give this movie the award or he would hunt them down and shoot them with an air gun. Not sure, but this movie was possibly the worst one I have seen since........Honey with Jessica Alba. The next movie that I watched, until I fell asleep, was "Things We Lost in the Fire". Ok this movie was going back and forth so much that I got dizzy. I don't really know what happens in the end because I fell asleep, but I will venture to say that it could not have possibly transformed into a great movie in the last 30 min. If it did, please let me know and I will take another look at it. I am waiting on "There will be blood" which is also supposed to be a "blockbuster". We shall see.........I also rented "Freedom Writers with Hillary Swank. This is a movie from about a year ago I think, but it is well worth the watch...very inspiring. We also got Alvin and the Chipmunks which was Very Cute...Hope this was useful to some of you.

There are only two of those movies that I even remotely know and that is "Freedom Writers and ALvin and the Chipmunks". I think I need to get out more.

I haven't seen "No country...", but if the academy says its great I probably won't like it. Not to sound like E-or (sp?) but their taste and mind tend to differ quite a bit.
