Today, as I was eating a very nutritious breakfast that consisted of a 3 Musketeers and Dr. Pepper, I was told by a coworker that this is not good to eat for breakfast. This got me to thinking, again, about who decided that candy was candy and that you could only eat it for dessert. Who decided that eggs were for breakfast and for that matter who decided that cornbread goes good with dinner? Likewise, who decided that curse words were curse words? Why is butt not just as bad as the explicative for butt? We all know what it means. If anyone has seen the Obrit comercial where the guy gets caught cheating you know what I'm talking about. They say things like "What the French, Toast?" While I find this wildly hilarious, we all know what could be said in place of this? So why is one bad and not the other. Another example is the work "freakin'" I have to threaten my oldest's life most of the time not to use this word. To me it is just like she is saying the F word.
Anywhoo, I have tried over the years to implement words or phrases that I think are cool. It almost worked last year when I started using my fingers and mouth to spell out "WOW". I really thought this was catching on, but I did it the other day after a long period of not doing it and did not get the response that I was looking for. Anyway, my point is that either if I am not important enough to start catch phrases or come up with words, who is? Who are these powerful people that came up with the word Yogurt or balloon, or bologna? I need to know these things!!

You Are An Exclamation Point !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are a bundle of... well, something. You're often a bundle of joy, passion, or drama.
You're loud, brash, and outgoing. If you think it, you say it.Definitely not the quiet type, you really don't keep a lot to yourself.
You're lively and inspiring.
People love to be around your energy.(But they do secretly worry that you'll spill their secrets without even realizing it.)
You excel in: Public speaking
You get along best with: the Dash

Thank You
In March, I started a new job. I work with National Guard and Reserve soldiers that were injured or became sick while on active duty. Now, some do get injured while at basic training, but there are the ones that get injured while deployed overseas. I don't know about you, but I really had no idea what these people sacrifice for our country. I know we always say thank you, but do you really know what you are thanking them for? I knew that some go over and are killed in the line of duty, but I never really thought about the survivors....until now. If you haven't thought about it either, please take the time to understand that their lives are changed forever too. They see their friends and colleagues killed in front of them and feel powerless to help. They have to clean up bomb sites (I won't explain what that entails, but you can imagine). They have to be on guard for their lives and the lives of the others in their unit constantly, so when they do make it back home, they can't just jump right back into life as usual. They still "watch" and are wary of everyone and everything. They have horrible nightmares and feelings of "survivors guilt". We continue to honor those who have lost their lives defending our freedom, but we don't really recognize those who have also "lost" their lives as they once knew it. I don't mean to get on a soap box, but the men and women who did not lose their lives in the war have lost a lot and I would like everyone to think about that and just thank them if you happen to see a soldier out and about. I have a whole different respect for them now. I respected them before, but I am in awe of the sacrifice that they are making for me and my family.

Thankfulness
I want to take the day to say some of the things that I am thankful for........
First I am thankful that God gave me the chance to be a mother and not just to my 4 month old baby. I am thankful everyday that I get the chance to be with my three step-daughters. I am however extremely grateful that he allowed me the opportunity to have a child and get the experience of watching my "mini-me" grow before my eyes.
Next I am thankful for my husband. We have had our ups and downs, but through it all, I can honestly say that I would not take it back. He is a wonderful person that I am proud of more and more everyday, even if he doesn't think so......
I am very thankful for my wonderful mother. She keeps my baby while I work. I would have, without a doubt, had to quit my job if she had to go to daycare, which in turn would mean that we would be homeless since we are a two income family!!!!
I am thankful that God put my new job in my path. While I may not be able to see the long term benefits, the short term is that I get off work 2 hours earlier enabling me to spend more time with my family.
I am thankful to all the people in my life who never seem to let me down. They are there through and through and I probably do not say thank you enough.
I am thankful for my health...I see so many around me that are sick and/or dying. Thank you God for allowing me to be healthy and spend uninterrupted time with my family and friends.
It is very easy to think about the things that are "wrong" in our lives. We very rarely stop to think about all of the good that we have. We may not have the best job, but at least we have a job. We may not have the fanciest house, but at least we have a home to go to. My goal is to be more mindful when I start to complain and give thanks to the Lord for the things that he has blessed me with and to remind myself that everything is in His plan, even if it is not in mine.

I'm a PIMP!!!
Ok, so like I said yesterday, I'm new at this. So, when I signed up for the account, Google Ads seemed like a good idea at the time......however, when I logged on this morning, I am advertising hot Ukrainian women and setting up arranged marriages! I became a pimp overnight! Should I put this on my resume? I guess I need to wait and see if I'm a good pimp or a bad one!!!!
